Notes
Tom made a visit to kishaike village to hold a meeting about the progress of the program and share about the way forward of sanitation and hygiene. The chairman and the vhts read the results from their evaluations of the village. They all showed that hand washing is still low but with a great improvement in latrine coverage. Tom encouraged the committee members and the chairman to continue emphasizing on the improvements on hand washing through the construction of hand washing stand. Tom also told the committee that he will be conducting the third evaluation at the end of the month. The chairman of the village said he is going to mobilize his committee and leadership members to move around the village and make sure that most of the residents have all the facilities as well as hand washing before the end of the month. The committee members also shared about the problem of pick axes getting lost in the village. Some committee members said the vice chairman of the village lost the pick axes by renting them out to other people from another village. Tom advised the chairman to follow up on the pick axes and give them to those residents who want to use them for digging pits for new latrines. The chairman said he had a pick axe and a shovel that they can for now use as he continues to follow up on the other tools
