Notes
Alex walyomu and chris went to Butabira village to carry out the second survey about the sanitation status of the community. This was intended to ascertain the status of sanitation standards in the community ,this helps the wash team to know where improvements are needed. Butabira village has over 156 homes that Alex walyomu and Chris had to cover however this became a possibility because the chairman and the VHT were already on ground waiting to start and as soon as Alex and Chris reached , they split so Alex and chairman went to lower part while Chris and the VHT went to upper part of the village and at the end of the day 156 homes were surveyed. New toilets have really come up, almost 60 percent of the homes now have hand washing facilities. There is total self mobilization among the members since they encourage each other to build toilets and hand washing facilities as well. Alex will be going back on 11 to meet the sanitation committee and the village leaders to have discussions about the survey findings.
