Notes
Tom and Chris made a visit to kalalu village to check on sanitation and hygiene improvements with emphasis on hand washing improvements and dish rack construction. When they arrived in the village, they found there were elections taking place and most of the committee members were taking part in the elections. A few members had finished voting but Tom and Chris suggested that they move around themselves around the village. Tom and Chris moved together instead of splitting up into two groups. They all moved from the trading center checking on facility constructions and sanitation improvements In the section of the trading center, they found one of the homes that did not have a latrine when they were digging a new pit for the latrine. Also there were four new hand washing stands constructed. They moved to the lower section and visited the section of the lower trading center where they found a home where they have finished the latrine structure and they were just working on the roof. His neighbor had dug the pit bit it was not to standard Tom and Chris encouraged the resident to abandon the pit and dig a new one as it would be hard to construct on the current pit. In another home in the lower section they found a resident when he had finished his new dish rack. The dish rack was well constructed and the resident had started on a new latrine as the old latrine has gotten full. Tom and Chris appreciated the resident and encouraged him to construct also the Latrice on good standard. His neighbor had also started on a new pit as well as two brothers respectively. Tom and Chris advised them to join efforts in digging the pits so that they can finish them on time.
