- Irene went to bupeni to teach about alcohol and drug abuse, the meeting started with a word from the VHT who urged community members to keep following the ministry of health guidelines on COVID-19, maintain general hygiene in their homes and also keep the children safe because they had mentioned their district as one of the areas with high teenage pregnancy in the country. Irene started with a review of the previous lesson, then asked the community members what they understand by alcohol and drug abuse.moses said it’s taking a lot of alcohol, the other member said it’s when one takes alcohol,and other forms of drugs in large amounts. With that Irene gave a clear explanation of alcohol and drug abuse explaining the signs and symptoms which the members gave like becoming violent,neglect of responsibilities in homes, among others then they also discussed about the long term effects like diseases, imprisonment, and family breaks. They then discussed about the prevention and after Irene asked the community members to always seek advise and avoid peer pressure so as to avoid misuse of drugs.
