Irene went to kagulu to teach about domestic violence basically to teach about the signs,health effects and prevention. With a word from the VHT about keeping the guidelines on covid 19 in place Irene was invited to continue with her lesson. Irene started with a review of the previous lesson then she asked the members if they have heard of the word domestic violence. With several explanations Irene gave a clear explanation as when a pattern of abusive behavior used by an individual intends to exert power and control over another individual. Irene then asked if there were several cases of domestic violence. Yes saidi answered giving the different causes,also other members shared the causes then Irene made an addition on what was discussed. Irene then discussed about the signs of domestic violence in homes giving physical hurt,destroying property,forced sex,insults as some of the signs. Irene also discussed the health effects like depression,panic attacks,psychotic episodes then later discussed how to prevent domestic violence and asked members to report cases of domestic violence to the authorities.

13688 Sara is a baby to one of the village members of kagulu so the mother prepared her herbs for a bath because she had diarrhea. So Irene advised her on the benefits of seeking medical care.
13691 Zamina’s mother also tied a key around her waist to open up blessings and avoid her from getting sick, which Irene advised and said it was a myth.
