Notes
Tom made a visit to kalalu village to check on facility constructions and improvements. He will be following up on facility constructions especially latrine constructions, dish rack construction and also will continue with the sensitization and promotion of hand washing stands. When he arrived in the village, he found when the committee members were waiting for him at the meeting place. They first shared about the progress of the program. The committee members said there is great improvement in the construction of sanitation facilities even though there are still homes lagging behind. There is one specific family of an old lady whom the committee members thought it was going to be hard for her to construct a latrine yet her daughters also constructed houses next to her. But recently the family started digging a new pit for a new latrine. They also said that there is a great improvement in hand washing as well as dish rack construction. Because the weather was not good, they decided to move in the trading center section of the village as it was starting. In the trading center, they found a new kitchen being constructed as well as new dish racks. In one home they found when the man was constructing a dish rack. He was very happy and thanked the committee members for encouraging him. He had also recently constructed a new hand washing stand. He said his home was improving greatly and that he is committed to improving on the sanitation and hygiene of his home. They also found a new pit being dug. In another home, they found when he resident had started on a new latrine besides his old one. As they were moving, it started to rain and Tom had leave for jinja
