Notes
During this visit to Butabira village, Alex had planned to follow up on sanitation improvements in the village mostly the dish rack construction in homes and later have a meeting with the water and sanitation committee members to prepare for the borehole repair but the day didn’t go well as planed due to the afternoon heavy down pour that started when Alex and two of the committee members had just started walking in the village moving home to home checking on sanitation facilities. The road to Butabira has gotten so bad lately because of the heavy current rains and when it started to rain, Alex decided to leave the village right away to avoid getting stuck in the village. The water meeting that had been scheduled couldn’t take place and together they agreed to reschedule for Monday 2/11/2020. However he encouraged the village chairman and the sanitation committee members to encourage those whose pit latrines are not yet roofed to do so as soon as possible to prevent them from collapsing.
