Notes
Alex was in Budumba to have a meeting with the community members to continue guiding the community on what to do before the borehole survey. The community needs to stay together and stand in unity to avoid a repeat of what happened recently when the government attempted to drill a borehole in this very community. Alex emphasized to the community to keep unity and to allow the water surveyor do his job best. He told them to take note that the surveyor will not necessarily consider the area that the community wants to have the borehole drilled but instead he will advise on the best site for the borehole drilling in the community. However he will try to survey the area that the community desires to drill the borehole. The community has to be aware that the surveyor does not survey near graves, near pit latrines, near a swamp, on top of a rock or mountain. All these places are not safe for clean water or not advisable to drill a borehole. Alex also encouraged the community members to pray that water is got in their community because that is the important thing but where to be drilled should leave it to the surveyor. The community members have promised to keep working together and behave as required during the process of borehole survey. They all moved into the areas that the community would love the surveyor to consider when surveying since these places are located in the middle of the village and the land owners are willing to donate their land for free to drill a borehole. However the community is still open to whatever the surveyor will come up with and what he will advise. The surveyor will be going to Budumba very soon beginning next week.
