Tom made a visit to kalalu village to hold a village meeting on the lower section to address the issue of some youth breaking the hand washing stands as well as encourage residents on facility constructions and sanitation improvements. Tom picked up the health assistant and went to kalalu village. They were welcomed by committee members who had well mobilized the village. The committee members addressed the meeting first were they encouraged the village residents to work and improve on their sanitation and hygiene. They also thanked those that have participated well and encouraged those that are lagging behind to also work hard and improve. The health assistant thanked the health committee members for the great work they are doing and encouraged them to continue sensitizing fellow residents on the importance of living in good sanitary and health environments. She also thanked kibo for the great work it’s done in the village to improve the sanitation and hygiene. She also cautioned the village residents who are working to sabotage the health program that its wrong and punishable by the government. She echoed the fact that kibo and the committee members are not working in Kalalu village following their own mandate but rather that the government of behind and its the one that sent kibo to the village of kalalu. She said kibo was a registered organization in the district of bugweri and that kibo is health the government reach its goal of improving the sanitation and hygiene of people on bugweri district. She cautioned all those working against the program to stop immediately but rather participate and work to improve on their sanitation and hygiene. Tom during his speech thanked the committee members and the government official for the great work they have done in the village. He encouraged the committee members not to be discouraged but rather continue being strong in the promotion of sanitation and hygiene improvements in the village of kalalu. Tom also expresses concern about those breaking the hand washing stands. He encouraged those that their stands were broken to consider replacing them as its vital to have them to live a healthy life. Tom spoke about the increased spread of covid 19 and encouraged residents not to be complacent but rather be vigilant and protect them selves through the wearing of masks, hand washing and avoiding big gatherings if possible. Tom said the purpose for the construction of the hand washing stands was to promote hand washing and prevent diseases. During the meeting members in the village expressed their sincere thanks to kibo for the great work the organization has done and they also thanked the committee members for the great work. One resident who closed the meeting promised that the entire village especially the lower section residents will be more supportive and behind the committee members as well as promised to encourage each other. 
Next Visit
2020-11-23 - Purpose: To continue with follow up on sanitation and hygiene improvements and facility constructions especially the lower section. The emphasis will be put on dish racks, latrines and hand washing stands
