Health lesson 14: Domestic Violence
Notes
Ida went to Maliga to continue with domestic violence and also finalize with the chicken coops building. Isabirye from Nabikenge gave all the quotations and materials needed when building a coop. Members agreed that they were going to choose a home where the coop demonstration will take place and all will learn from there, after that the members who cannot build, will provide all materials needed and will facilitate Isabirye to build for them. Ida continued with the lesson asking the group what causes and how have they managed to stop or reduce domestic violence in their homes. Kafuko said that luck of respect in families has contributed a lot and poverty. Roselyn said that alcoholism has contributed a lot in breaking families. Kirya said unfaithfulness is a problem. How are we going to overcome this problem Ida asked? Tibiwa said that by respecting one another Reduce or stop drinking in order to have good families. Sit and discuss family issues on the table not rumor mongering. Be faithful to our spouses. Those are some of the things that the community said they will do to reduce domestic violence in communities. Ida concluded by asking members to respect each other and always say sorry if we do wrong to others. If asked to forgive please let’s forgive.
