Notes
Enock and Martin went to this community to continue checking on the progress of sanitation improvements and hygiene facilities, emphasize on standardization, remind the residents in the trading centre on the many diseases that rise due to poor sanitation say cholera, dysentery, typhoid, diarrhea mostly when kids don’t wash there hands with clean water and soap they scam to running stomachs, loss of lives but just because of parents fault of not improving there sanitation and hygiene. There has been great response in the most of the homes where we saw many new latrines, shower areas, kitchen areas, hand washing stations where we are teaching the core values of hand washing as well as Covid 19 which is a pandemic. We have taught people to build two hand washing stands one at the front and at the latrine area, for the people with small businesses in the centre we advised them to also construct hand washing stands. The residents are willing and embracing the of behavioral changes to develop there community. The most economic activity people in this community do is agriculture and it’s been a rainy season never the less we continued asking the residents to also spend more time in their homes to construct good and sustainable facilities which will help them develop. Martin also encouraged the residents to continue buying cement and sand so that use while constructing the top of shower areas, hand washing stands as well as construction of good firm foundation as the base for constructing a latrine structure. Enock also challenged all the local leaders more so the chairman to take the lead as the leaders to continue encouraging community residents to take all the lessons of sanitation seriously.
