David and Steven were in Busene village. Their intentions of going there was to have a sanitation committee meeting with the new re elected sanitation committee teaching them about full program ownership as well as setting along with them rightful facility standardization and the improvements. As David and Steven were in the village they were joined by the village chairman mr Mudaki Paul and the two committee members. That is Ngobi musa and Sarah lsiko who led them home to home into the different homes before the meeting time. Originally the sanitation committee members and the kibo staff they had earlier on planned to have their sanitation meeting after the home to home movements . Unfortunately they had only moved in 20 homes only .Later they saw the elder chairman,s son who came running before where they were . When his Daddy the village chairman mr Mudaki Paul asked him what was wrong with him, He told them that one of the prominent ex leaders of the village had got a stroke and suddenly he died. Wow it was total bad new for both the village and the WASH activities. So because of the sudden new of one of the prominent member ,the kibo staff posed everything they were supposed to be doing for example the planned Sanitation committee meeting of the new elected members. Because of the on going covid 19 disease , David and Steven did not join the chairman and some of the two other committee members to the family of the diseased. Therefore they stopped there and planned to reschedule the meeting they were supposed to be having that day to the 9/12/2020. In general according to the village chairman’s phone call the previous day , all the members were anxiously waiting to hear from the kibo staff the next planned date. Also the chairman mr Mudaki Paul told David through the phone call that the entire village was really encouraged according to his sensitization and mobilization at the fennel day he was encouraging the members to join him in the sanitation struggle . Since they had learnt through the triggering session the root causer of all the poverty and the different diseases in Busene village. 

Next Visit

2020-12-09 - Purpose: To have a sanitation committee meeting after the one they were supposed to be having failing due to the sudden death of the one of the prominent leader in the village when the kibo staff had just moved in about 20 home before the planned meeting.

Program Success

Yes they have started working on some of their sanitation facilities for example the rubbish pits .

Program Critical Needs

More sanitation improvements as well as the encouragements.

Program Ownership

After the triggering session, the residents have started keeping the borehole compound cleaner than before.

Program Expected Of Village

The kibo staff will be planning to reschedule the sanitation meeting with the new elected committee members after the previous one failing because of the sudden death of the one prominent member in the community who died.

To phone call the village through the chairman in order to check on how the village will be progressing.
