Suzan went to the village to follow up on the stove usage,smearing of the houses and the construction of the firewood storages which other members had not done. When she reached there, she went straight to the group vice chairperson’s home whom she found busy attending to her banana plantation with the help of her son. Suzan was welcomed to the village and then she let her know the purpose of her visit that day, which was to move around the homes while monitoring their facilities. Madam Easter first excused herself a bit and first completed her plantation work and then she walked Suzan around the village. As they walked, other members joined in until they were 7 women and 3 men making 10 members all together. They went home to home and according to observations, four members who had poor kitchens by then managed to construct the roofs and build the firewood storages inside. A young boy was found cooking outside under a big tree because his parents didn’t have a kitchen which was destroyed by the previous heavy storms. His father said he would soon build a good kitchen once he got free time out of his garden work. Some houses were well smeared inside out as well as the new improved stoves which was so encouraging to see. The vice chairperson on behalf of the members promised to always walk around the village with her fellow committee members so as to remind others to improve on their facilities. Suzan requested each of them to always use their new stoves so that they would benefit from them with other family members. She then thanked them for coming to the meeting and wished them a happy stay.

2021-02-08 - Purpose: To monitor the maintenance of the program facilities and the stove usage.

Program Success

Yes according to observations, all the members are happily cooking on their fuel saving stoves except those who don’t have good kitchens.

Some of the participants need to improve on their facilities especially those destroyed by the rains.

There’s a good leadership structure and teamwork among the members

Some homes in the community have good improved facilities such as the dish racks, latrines, tippy taps and shower areas.

Program Expected Of Village

The members are to continue smearing their houses and reconstructing their facilities which are not in good shape such as the bathrooms, latrines, dish racks and also digging up new rubbish pits.
