- Abraham met the government official in Ikumbya community who were so happy to hear that Mvule program is now going to work in their village. They said they are going to work with Kibo in this program of planting trees because they have noticed that many of the community members are planting sugar cane and in order to planting sugar cane you have to clear the are by cutting all trees which is affecting the environment in the area. They said they have discussed with RDC of Lukas district to see that they do something about the situation which is becoming worse. They went and met sixty three members who were so excited to have the program. The government officials told the community not to plant sugar cane if someone has little land. It needs when they have much land for growing food crops. They said that they have come up with a policy that if you are going to plant sugar first go to the sub county to make sure you have enough land. They are doing this to reduce the number of those who want to grow sugar when they have little land.
Abraham encouraged the community to plant trees as many as they can because if not there is a big problem because we all live on trees. They are going to mobilize more community members to attend the next meeting.
