- Notes
- Kibo staff together with the Tylors were received in this village with songs and dancing showing how they were very excited to have them in their village. The women had even hired music systems to show how they were appreciating Kibo who has empowered them through its programs like; water source and the stove program. They all hugged every Kibo staff member and the visitors showing them love. It was also interesting to see a woman (Dito Epafura) who was once found by Harriet in her house very sick as she had constant blood flow for four days, she was unconscious and the family members had no means of transport to take her to the hospital other than waiting for her to die) Harriet offered KIbo’s car and took her to the hospital where she got treatment that restored her life . She was very happy dancing together with a group appreciating Kibo for being a Good Samaritan because Harriet did not ignore her but took her to the hospital. They later on went to the home where they had planned to build a stove on their own as Kibo staff guides them. They practically mixed the dirt built a stove with little guidance from Kibo. The stove was built at the home of one active man in the stove program”Kaleka” who had built a new kitchen because he needed also to get a stove in his home.Harriet together with the group also checked on the first three stoves in this village and were all cooking well . She also encouraged them to continue building stoves on their own and Kibo will be supervising their work done. They thanked Kibo for empowering them with the skill and promised to maintain the team spirit.
