Notes
Harriet,Jeska and Tape went to Bupeni village to give saucepans and soap to the active participants. They reached in the village and found the participants waiting at the meeting place and were joined by the government officials that is the chairpersons LC1,LC2,LC3,the internal security officers for the parish and the subcounty and the community development officer from Nawaikoke Sub county. The community warmly welcomed kibo staff and the government officers to their village. The chairperson of the Healthy and safe kitchens program led kibo staff and the government officials to the homes of the participants to see what kibo has done in their village. These were Mvule trees, Goats, sanitation and hygiene facilities, stoves, firewood storages , the borehole among others .All the kibo program facilities that were implemented in this village were maintained. Later on, they all settled down for the meeting. The chairperson LC1 opened the meeting with a prayer and thanked kibo for the activities they have implemented in their village which has changed their lives. The chairperson for the healthy and safe kitchen program Mr. Kassajja Enock welcomed kibo staff and government officials to their village. He read a report about what kibo has so far done in their village and how it has changed people’s lives. These programs were Mvule community development program , every member in the group was given a goat and two members exchanged their goats into cows, every member was given Mvule seedlings which they planted, Water sanitation and hygiene that taught them to have sanitation and hygiene facilities and drilled a well in their community, healthy education program, community empowerment program and Healthy and safe kitchen program that helped them to build fuel efficient stoves, constructing firewood storage stands and well as taught them about smearing. He added that the stove has helped them to save firewood,time since they are able to cook two things at ago,as well as increased marriage relationship because. The chairperson also said that the program has so far graduated four instructors in their village who have learnt how build stoves in the village and takes the lead. The community also requested kibo to take them for the village exchange visits which can help them to learn new ideas from other communities. He thanked kibo for loving their village by empowering those programs and promised that the community will Maintain them. Kibo staff thanked the community for being cooperative,which enabled kibo programs to be effective. She also thanked the participants for using their stoves on daily basis because in some homes they found food cooking by itself. She also encouraged them to maintain all the programs facilities that kibo implemented in their village Kibo staff said that because of their hard work and commitment in the healthy and safe kitchen program kibo has given them two community saucepans which they can use as a group and a bar of soap that every member will take a piece of soap home as a sign of appreciation for participating in the program. Kibo staff handed these incentives to the community in the presence of government officials present . They also encouraged them to stay united in order to do more development activities . The community was very happy and thanked kibo for the surprise gift. The Community development official and the internal security officials also thanked kibo for the programs that it has implemented in their village. The CDO also testified that he received very few cases of domestic violence from this village due kibo programs that has created unity and brought both men and women to work together as they cook food for the family. The government officials also commented kibo for being trustworthy because it has delivered its services to the community which has made it to be a genuine Organization. He thanked kibo for preaching Gods love through action. The CDO also told the community to maintain all the programs it has implemented in their village and even think of what else they can add on what kibo has implemented in their village. He also encouraged them to always reach him at the Subcounty Incase they want any advice about any development program. He also promised to register the community freely at the Subcounty level. The community thanked the government officials for the advise and visiting their village which has made them gain confidence or being encouraged to reach them in their office.
