- Irene went to kalitumba to talk about family planning. The meeting started with a word of prayer led by the village VHT Dina, who invited the chairman of the village to take up the meeting. The chairman thanked the members for continued participation in the meetings and encouraging others for coming in the health lessons. He further thanked the Irene for the continued support in promoting good health in their community, later he welcomed Irene to say a word to the members. Irene thanked the members for turning up for the meeting,mobilizing other members and keeping the time for the meeting. Irene made a review of the previous lessons and then asked the members for the meaning of family planning. Family planning is when a woman decides on the number of children to have said, mastulah , it’s when a man plans for his family said Samson and several other views as the members discussed. On addition to that Irene explained family planning as an informed decision between a man and a woman or an individual on the number of children to have and interval . Irene further discussed the different types of family planning in which she categorized them into two methods the natural and artificial family planning methods. Giving several examples of each type Irene explained the different kinds and these included the IUDs,jadelle,implant,tubeligation moon bead, condoms among others giving how each method works,duration of time,and mode of insertion. Irene then encouraged the members to inform other members to come for the next meeting,to pass on the lesson of the day,and to find out which methods are available in their hospitals.
