- Notes
- Manuela went to Kivule primary school for counseling and guidance session for girls.
She planned to counsel the girls about discipline, personal hygiene, menstraul hygiene and management. This lesson was intended to promote behavioural change and personal hygiene. Manuela encouraged the girls to have respect for one another and also respect them selves. She also advised the ladies to try and stay at school during their menstrual periods. She also talked about personal hygiene like bathing everyday, keeping their hair and nails short, washing their hands before and after food so as to prevent diseases like dysentery, typhoid and cholera.
Finally she also demonstrated to the girls how they can use the locally available materials by folding the piece of cloth that they use in their menstraul cycle. She went on and told the girls that hygiene is paramount during their periods because it prevents them from diseases.
