Notes
Harriet went to Nawampiti village to introduce the Healthy and safe kitchens program to this village. She had also planned to make home visits to see whether participants had all the facilities required for the Healthy and safe kitchen program program. She reached in the village and was received by the vice chairperson LC1 Betty whom she requested to walk with her through some homes as she inspected their homes to see whether they have all the required facilities like kitchens where the stoves will be built, shower areas where the participants will clean up from after building stoves, pit latrines because the stove building gathers participants in one home who would at times want to ease themselves. Harriet walked with Betty in the homes as they mobilized the participants for the meeting. Some participants had all the required facilities for building stoves and those who had sub standards facilities were encouraged to attend the meetings meanwhile as they improve on them. As they were still carrying out home visiting and mobilizing the participants for the meeting, one member said that they have hard that some one has died in the neighboring village. It was also realized that the person who had died is a born of Nawampiti though married in the next village so they had much connection with her. They told Harriet that she has been suffering from high blood pressure therefore she must have died of that. This disrupted the plan for the day as most people had to run to the home of the diseased to comfort those who had lost their dear one as well as make preparation for the burial arrangements. Because of that tragedy , Betty on behalf of the community requested Harriet to post pone the meeting to Friday 26th March 2021 . She also assured her that the participants will be available since the burial is going to be in the next village and after the burial most people will come back to Nawampiti village.
