Notes
Harriet went to Buyange village to finish evaluation as well as share the findings to the community. She reached in the village and started walking home to home together with one of the community members ( Nagibu) . Harriet walked home to home as she interviewed the participants as she recorded their responses. She also observed to see that what the participants were telling her was true. She reached 16 homes that she interviewed and successfully answered the questions. During the evaluation ,Harriet found out that all the participants were cooking on their fuel effective stoves and this was supported by finding food cooking by itself and the absence of the traditional three stones. They also told her the stoves has helped them to safe firewood improved sanitation and hygiene in the kitchen since the stoves use less firewood thus less ash is produced. She later had a meeting with the participants where she shared with them the evaluation findings. The participants told her that the reason why they have maintained their healthy and safe kitchens program facilities is that they have simplified their life for instance both men and women are able to work together as they cook food for the family. The participants also stretched a concern of rainfall which at times washes a way the dirt that they use to smear their facilities. Harriet encouraged them to keep on re- smearing when the rain stops to enable their facilities look neat and last neat. The participants thanked Harriet for Evaluating them thus giving them an opportunity to identify weak areas that need improvement or Good areas that needed to be maintained. She also encouraged the members to follow up with each other for the program to be sustainable.
