Notes
David and Steven went to bulyowa to have a meeting together with the water users committee members which was aimed at knowing how much they had collected towards their borehole account as well as teaching the committee members about full borehole ownership and responsibilities . They first moved in the two homes which previously had not improved according to the required set standards of hygiene and sanitation. The first home was mr Kizito Nviriā€™s,home whom they met and had worked on all his home hygiene facilities to the required standards. From there, they moved to the most stubborn home of mr Lolian. This time he had completed with the digging of his pit latrine. Kibo staff appreciated him and advised him to also complete the construction of the dish rack. Then they headed to the village meeting together with the water user committee. In this meeting, they first asked how much the village had collected as their contribution for the borehole account. The chairman Mr. Mpata told them that they had collected 300,000 shillings and they said that it was because some of the community members had failed to effect their payments on time because they did not have the money in that very moment. Therefore, they requested the committee members to lend them the money so that after the harvest, they will be able to pay it off. Kibo staff appreciated them for the great work of moving home to home as they followed up with the members to contribute money towards the borehole account and also continued thanking them for loving and working for-their village and talked more about unity and working together. In addition to the above Kibo staff encouraged all the village members through the committee members to continue contributing more money for the future sustainability of their borehole. They also encouraged the committee members together with the residents to keep time during the borehole repair process. In general according to the hygiene status of the village, the entire village has worked hard towards meeting the required set standards .
