Notes
Martin and Steven were in Namusita, they walked around the village with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members. Their intention was to check on the new home facilities and encouraging the residents about the standards and maintenance. This is a new village, but according to the good leadership, the program of sanitation and hygiene is moving to fast. Because the community members are busy working on their new home facilities for example Alice Naigaga, she is an old woman, but she worked hard on their new facilities like the dish rack, rubbish pit, smearing her main house and she did a great work to encourage her son also to smear his house, Alex matenga, promised the group that he is going on the shower area in three days, Peter Matenga’s new dish rack, it’s under construction, Moses Mulyangule’s new pit latrine 25ft deep, it’s under construction, The group was so encouraged about Alex Njaye, one of the executive committee member for LC1, when the triggering meeting took place, he was not around on that day. But when he came back to that village, he had that, the program of sanitation and hygiene came to his village, working on the home facilities, because his of village leaders, he just started digging the new pit latrine and it’s now 8ft deep, Charles Kalagala’s new pit latrine, it’s under construction, Because residents have seen the value of the home facilities, Paul waiswa, he is sick, but his wife, worked on the new shower area and she is continuing to work other facilities. With the continued work done in Namusita, the village health worker, Nabirye Marina who treats the community said that their has been a decrease in the uptake of ORS, from the Clinic due to the reduction of diarrhorial diseases in their village. And she was just appreciating and requesting kibo for that work. Generally the village leaders and community members are busy and willing to work with kibo. As kibo is still in that village, the group walked in 40homes, because the homes are nearby.
