Village Notes
This village was recently divided into two. Nawampiti 1 and Nawampiti 2. This comes as a result of the government creating a new sub county called Nawaikona. So one borehole is now in Nawampiti 1 and another one in Nawampiti 2

Notes
Alex met with the water user committee members of Nawampiti 1 borehole that is badly in need for a repair. They reported to him of a challenge in the village that some people have not been cooperating towards contributing the money required for the borehole account. The committee had earlier on decided to lock the borehole so that everyone can contribute the money. They would only open for someone who had paid the money to get water. Some people did not welcome this idea and decided to intimidate the committee members and went ahead to break the padlock that was put on the borehole. They also started to spread a rumor that Kibo won’t repair their borehole saying that it’s been a long time since it was promised. This has started to bring mixed reactions and some have not responded very well lately and yet in the beginning, everybody in the village was working very hard towards improving the hygiene standards in the homes and contributing the money. Because of this, the water committee was also becoming discouraged and wanted to give up. Alex went in to first meet with the committee and encouraged them to keep working and told them that the government officers together with Kibo group are still behind them. Alex and the water user committee also mobilized the community members to come for the general community meeting next week on the 11/04/2018. This meeting is aimed at solving all those challenges and together pave a way forward. The sub county and district officers will be present for this meeting.
