Notes
Ida went to Nawandyo B to teach about unity and harmony in marriage specifically dealing with challenges and solutions. She started with a recap which was well done, the community members remembered the previous lessons . Ida asked the members to mention some of the challenges they face in their marriage. Kamadi the group Secretary said that poverty is number one challenge. Sadi said that husbands denying their responsibilities. Jamawa said that men having multiple wives. Nangobi said that women lucking jobs is another challenge. Mutesi complained about drinking alcohol, men drink alcohol and forget their responsibilities. Ida thanked the members for participating and encouraged them to keep on answering because it helps in reminding self. She also told them luck of respect might lead to fights. We must be respect each other in order to live in harmony. Ida still asked the community what can be done to solve this problem? Susan encouraged those who drink alcohol to reduce or stop that the money spent on alcohol is used at home for something important. Jamawa suggested that men should stop adding on women which splits the family and causes domestic violence. Lovisa gave an advice to men that they should consider their wives and start paying them because the work they do at home is also equivalent to the work else where! Everyone burst in laughter emphasizing the point made by Lovisa. The chairperson urged the men to wake up and take up their responsibilities as heads of the family. The Bible says that a man who fails to take care of his family is worthless it’s better to tie a grinding stone around his neck and through him in the lake. Ida concluded by encouraging couples to say sorry because it doesn’t cost anything. Learn to appreciate your husband, wife and children. Talk to each other before acting with anger. Ask for forgiveness and above all, LOVE one another.
