Anger Lesson 1: What is anger?
Notes
Ida went to Ikumbya and reviewed about Anger management lessons. Below are questions: What causes Anger? How do you deal with Anger/control? What do you do when angry? How do you prevent Anger? Answers to the questions above: What causes Anger, Rumors, damage of property, shame, adultery in marriage. How do you deal with Anger/control? Move away, keep quiet. Acknowledge Anger, control thoughts. What do you do when angry? Shout, cry, beat, kick Damage property e.g. commit suicide. How to prevent Anger? Stop listening to rumors, Be faithful to our spouses, go for counselling and church services. The group was happy and most of them gave more than one answer. They were learning new things from each other. Ida concluded by giving them a scripture from Num 20:12 (failure to handle his anger kept Moses out of the promised land.) Ida added that we can learn to be in control of our angry feelings. She also said that, we can also choose to take the thoughtful approach and practice holding back anger until one decides if and how to express it.
