Notes
Diana went to Bulyowa to teach chores and responsibilities and its benefits to the children and the community. It was a beautiful day, the community had already gathered ready for the Community empowerment lessons. It was a beautiful moment to see such a big a number. The chairman mr. Wasswa Godfrey welcomed us, and gave his remarks thanking everyone for keeping time.He thanked the Kibo team for not getting tired of them. They have seen a lot of transformation in their community. Many homes have been restored. He thanked Diana and Ida for teaching them and helping their homes. He also told the community to always keep time and attend the lessons. Diana thanked the chairman and the community for always welcoming Kibo in their community. She took them through the previous lesson which was about love in the family, Kawala Fidha put up her hand saying that she has a testimony about the community empowerment lessons, that is, her husband has started doing things he used not to do like, cooking food, sweeping the compound, and bathing the children. Diana told the members to clap for this couple. The community chorused together saying they have seen a great change in the community. Diana thanked them for putting the lessons into practice. It was a beautiful moment and she encouraged them to continue loving one another. Diana introduced the lesson of the day which was chores and responsibilities in children. Diana told them that it is very important to teach children chores and responsibilities. She told them to describe some of the chores they give to their children, George William, said they give them to sweep the compound, wash dishes, digging. Diana thanked George for his good answer. Diana taught them that, when children are given jobs to do when younger, they develop confidence in the ability to complete tasks. If you have more than one child have them work on a chore together. Chores teach children to feel important and be responsible in everything they do. Diana stretched that, children should be taught how to work so that they don’t struggle for their parent’s property. Diana elaborated on this topic. The community promised to put everything they have been taught into practice.
