Notes
Jeska went to Kazimba Kungira village to continue teaching participants how to build stoves. This was to be more of guiding participants as they build stoves on their own. She reached in the village and did not find participants at the meeting place which was so discouraging. Later own the three active men in the program( James, Alexander, Averest) showing up. Jeska waiting but no other people were joining except the three new women who joined. It was so discouraging to her to see that who ever got a stove stopped coming for the meeting. She asked the rest of the team to go these peoples home to find out why they did not turned up. They did not find any one at their homes . She was so disappointed and wanted to come back to Jinja . However these three men requested her to surpervise them as they try to build a stove for an old woman ( Apio) to show that for them they can extend love to the needy in the community. She accepted, worked with them to mix the dirt and grass at a ratio of two to one stamped ,stamped it, guided the participants to measure banana stems and they perfectly did it. She guided these men to build a stove for a Apio and they seem to have learnt. They also told her that they went a head and removed banana stems from the previously built stove. Jeska looked at it and it was perfectly done. Jeska thanked them for being active in the program despite the rest of the community which did not show much interest. She also told them that Kibo is going to slow down it’s frequent visits in the village however requested these three men to take on the program in case they was need for a stove by any one in the community. These men also thanked Kibo for time and resources spent in their village which enabled them to learn how to build stoves. They also said that for them they don’t regret the time they have spent attending healthy and safe kitchen program lessons which has helped them to learn. They hope to use the skill of building stoves to earn a living.
