Notes
Jeska and Harriet went to Butabira village to meet the local leaders and program leaders to discuss on how to resume work after the lockdown with out violating the standard operating procedures which put in place by the ministry of health in prevention of covid 19. During the meeting, the community leaders suggested to form groups of five people for easy operation to avoid many people gathering which may lead to the spread of covid 19. Kibo staff asked the community leaders to form those groups because they are the people who know very well each other in the community and who is neighboring who to avoid forming groups of people who don’t leave close to one another. The interesting part of the leaders were selfish whereby they made the first two groups that were made up of the leaders themselves. Harriet guided them not to make groups which full of leaders only. She reminded them to lead by example, to be servants but not to be served first. This will promote love, unity and teamwork.she also encouraged them to be in charge of those groups in order to guide and coordinate the program implementation. The leaders were very eager and asked kibo staff whether kibo can go back to their village the next day so that they start stove building since they had chopped some grass that can be used to build stoves, had smeared their home facilities.kibo staff asked them to go slow and first form those groups, continue chopping grass, smearing their home facilities and then the program will proceed from the there. The meeting concluded that the leaders will meet on Friday 13/8/2021 meet again, form those groups so that the next time kibo visits their village they will present them and they will agree on which group to begin with.
