Diana went to Bukhudumira to do home assessment and introduce chicken lessons to the community. On this home assessment, the people didn’t expect me, found out that most of them had gone to the gardens and interacted with few. I met Fazira who is a single mothe taking care of her Three children Hanifa Mohammed and Aisha. They had a clean compound, the children were helping in house chores, while their mother was weeding around the compound. Asked were their father was, they said that he took off during Covid time, that he could not afford to take care of them. Diana told them to put their confidence in God and not in man. She encouraged them to keep helping their mother in house chores and garden work, so that they don’t sleep hungry.
Diana continued with her assessment and came across three women and one gentleman who building their coop. Diana told them that they had hurried because they need to know the advantages and disadvantages of having one chicken coop. For example who would be buying feeds, cleaning the chicken coop, this has to be a combined effort. Diana told them to be there on the next lesson so that they learn how to handle this. She wished them well and left.
