Tape went to the village to teach the community members how to construct stronger raised firewood storages. When she arrived there, she went to the meeting place and found a few members already gathered.
The group chairperson waiswa welcomed her to the village and requested to start the meeting since some members were still in the gardens. Tape then began explaining the importance of having the firewood storages in the kitchens and requested each one to participate in the lessons.
Some members had good ideas on why it was important to save firewood on the storages by saying that it saved time for other activities. Tape began explaining and encouraging the members to contract the firewood storages using stronger poles so that they stayed longer.
She also advised them to be applying black fuel oil on the poles so that they wouldn’t be eaten up by the termites which could easily make them collapse causing accidents. She went ahead saying it was important to save firewood during dry season in preparation of the rainy seasons or during scarcity. They thanked Tape for the lessons taught and the promised to do so as soon as possible.
