Notes
Tom and Kenneth made a visit to Kisimu village to carry out triggering in hand washing. The attendance was good and the chairman mobilized representatives from all corners of the village on learning the values of hand washing, they are to pass the information to the rest of their neighbors. Tom and Kenneth shared as well as requested the village to participate I the discussion about the dangers of not washing hands like contracting diseases, how hands get contaminated, and how all the above can be prevented which is by hand washing. This session was very participatory. Tom and Kenneth also demonstrated how washing with soap is better than washing with plain water. After the triggering, Tom and Kenneth demonstrated how the hand washing stands are constructed as well as their benefits over the tippy tap. But Tom and Kenneth encouraged the residents to decide on what model they preferred. After the construction of the stand, most of them said they preferred the stand. Tom and Kenneth were also encouraged when three women said they will step up and construct the stands. Tom and Kenneth encouraged those women to inspire other women as well.
