Notes
Jeska went to Butabira village to continue teaching participants how to practically build stoves .This time she focused on teaching them how to remove banana stems from the four previous built stoves. She removed banana stems from the first stoves as she explained the whole process and told the participants to pay attention and ask questions where they did not understand. When this was done, she asked the participants to divide themselves into three groups so that each group would work on one stove as Jeska watches and guides them. At the end of the day each group successfully removed banana stems , shaped the stoves and smeared them.Jeska also tasked the owners of those stoves to build strong firewood storage stands in their kitchens to stock firewood that they will use during the time of scarcity. She also reminded them to use strong poles while constructing these firewood storages to prevent them from collapsing. An interesting part of the day one of the community members Kampi committed her self to be in charge of ensuring that every participants builds a strong firewood storage immediately after getting a stove. Also the women who used to sit back, watch the men work now are actively involved in the program.
