Notes
Jeska and Harriet went to Butabira village to build the first demonstration stove. They found when the participants had already gathered all the materials required for building stoves. Kibo staff asked them to identify among themselves the first person to get a stove in their community. By consensus they all chose Florence for a stove reason being she has always turned up for the meeting on time and had all the home facilities well smeared as a qualification for a stove.Kibo staff walked with the participants to the anti hill to collect the dirt that will be used to build a stove. Kibo staff mixed the dirt and grass at a ratio at a ratio of 2:1 basins later own sprinkled water in it. As kibo staff started stamping the dirt the community requested to join .Interestingly the community worked together with kibo staff to stamp the dirt until it got ready. Kibo staff measured the banana stems as every one watched. Later own built one stove for Florence as they explained the whole process as the community watched. The participants were very excited when they saw a complete stove . Kibo staff asked them to encourage other members to join, always participate in the program because it aims at empowering them with a skill of building stoves stoves that may lead to program sustainability.
