Notes
Enock made a visit in this community to continue checking on the progress of sanitation improvements in the trading centre where it’s been a slow response to change since some People who stay in homes around the trading centre rent these homes for businesses. When we made a visit in homes in this section, we’re we met most of the residents in their homes, talked about the importance of sanitation improvements, reminded the residents about the challenges and diseases which are brought about due to open defecation like cholera which can kill the whole entire community, dysentery, typhoid, diarrhea among other diseases which increase medical expenses and may Ben led to loss of lives. The residents have embraced the lessons and promised to improve on their sanitation standards. Some homes in the trading centre have constructed good standard latrines case in point used bricks, cement, sand as well as made strong firm foundations to construct latrine structures and shower areas. There has also been an increase in the hand washing construction and usage where most of the homes in the trading centre and a long the road have constructed two hand washing stands, bought centre to construct sustainable stands and have two jerrycans. The VHTs reported to Enock that some organizations of action aid came to their community to sensitize Covid SOPs but found out that this community has embraced hand washing where most homes have completed hand washing stands and using the jerrycans properly. They said this village is a model village and encouraged the VHTs to also teach their neighboring communities the importance of sanitation improvements.
