Harriet found when the participants had already mixed the dirt and grass , stamped it and it was pilled in the corner of the kitchen where the stove was to be built. This was so encouraging and showed how the participants were interested in the program and eager to learn. She inspected the done and it was well done.
Harriet asked five participants to join her in the kitchen and build a stove. Harriet guided the participants to build a stove. During the process she observed that ,there was an active participant, a youth(Sadat 19 years) who actively participated in the program. He told her that the reason why he wants to learn how to build stoves is that , he can sell his skill to neighboring communities to build stoves and raise some money to buy scholastic materials that he will use when schools open as his parents look for fees.
This was so encouraging to see a youth participating in this dirty work of building stoves, Harriet encouraged him to continue practicing because practice makes perfect.she also told him to encourage other youth to participate in the program so that they can acquire a skill of building stoves.
After kibo staff also removed banana stems from the previous two stoves that were built. She asked the participants to smear these stoves in order to look neat and last longer.
