Notes
Tape and Suzan went to the village to continue teaching the community how to build the fuel efficient stoves. They found when the participants had built a stove on their own , they looked at it and this time it was properly done. The participants had also stamped the dirt to build more two stoves on that day. Kibo staff divided the community into two groups whereby each group was joined by a Kibo staff. Also in the community there are two men ( Shanon and Gerald ) who have learnt how to built stoves. They asked each man to join one group. With Kibo’s guidance the community was able to build two stoves as Kibo staff guided them to it well. Kibo staff asked the community to continue building stoves on their own, help other members to learn how to build stoves because practice makes perfect. After Kibo staff together with the community walked to some homes that got stoves earlier to see the progress. Interestingly they found when they had started cooking on their stoves, they maintained them well smeared and some decorated praising Kibo for having empowered them with a skill that is helping them to cook in a conducive environment and saves firewood. Kibo staff thanked them for having embraced the program and encouraged them to maintain. They also asked them to ensure that they stock firewood on their firewood storage stands that they can use during scarcity.
