Great improvements in the sanitation and hygiene facilities in the community and all the people are proud of what they have managed to do in their homes.
Village Critical Needs
The people have almost all the facilities but one challenge is that they are lacking one part of roofing those facilities like the pit latrines and some kitchens. Also some people need to still be encouraged to put up the hand washing facilities. We will still encourage all the people to reach the required standards before the borehole can be drilled
Village Action Steps
To mobilise everyone to turn up for the meeting on monday 30/04/2018. The chairman of the village and the sanitation committee to help mobilise the village members to come in large numbers.
Staff Action Steps
To keep in touch with the sanitation committee members and remind them of the meeting and mobilising the community members

Water Access Explain
About 20 homes still get water from a swamp plus other people from the neighboring village of Bunaibamba B. Also the only one borehole in the village gets congested as many people line up to get water thus spending much time to get water from this borehole. Adding one more borehole will help to solve the water issue and have everyone in this village access clean water

Village Notes
The CLTS program has spent about 6 months in this village and everyone in the village is proud of the change that has come in their village. This village had a very low sanitation coverage and many people were practicing open defecation. Many homes have worked very hard to change their homes and have all the sanitation facilities in place and know very well the importance of proper hygiene and sanitation.

Notes
Alex met with the chairman of the village and the sanitation committee members and were able to move home to home checking on the sanitation and hygiene facilities and continue to encourage every home to have all the facilities and maintaining them. This is a continuation of what CLTS program is doing in this village. Tom has worked with this village for now close to six months. This village was really in bad state before CLTS joined but now asking the people in this community, they are proud of what they have been able to achieve. The people confess that Kibo has done a great job to teach them the importance of having a clean home and village. They are also happy that Kibo has managed to encourage them on a weekly basis guiding them on building the right facilities. Alex asked the chairman of the village and the vhts to remain active and to continue encouraging everyone to maintain the facilities. Alex together with the health committee moved in 27 homes checking on the facilities and encouraging the people to maintain these facilities. During this rain season, it becomes very hard for people to maintain these facilities and also some facilities easily collapse due to the heavy rains but the people have to be still encouraged to rebuild as quickly as possible. He found one kitchen that had broken down and he talked to the owner to work on it quickly. He also encouraged the people to smear on these facilities as this adds more strength on the facilities to last longer. He also visited the MP’s grand mother home and found that a new pit latrine was being constructed. Alex called on the chairman and the health committee members Jowelia, Kansime and Namukasa to mobilize everyone in the community to come for the meeting on 30/04/2018. This will be the first community meeting and introduce water source program in this village.

2435 Construction of a new pit latrine at a home where a member of parliament of this area was born. They have been having one pit latrine that was in a very terrible state and it took Tom to talk to this family to construct another pit latrine that will show an image of a home where a member of parliament comes from. The MP’s grand mother lives in this home and other family members
2438 This kitchen recently collapsed due to the heavy rains and the owner of the home called Bumaali has been advised to quickly replace the kitchen since its becoming very hard for the family to cook during this rain season
