Notes
Alex walyomu and chris went to this village to follow up on requirements to receive the goats and as well discuss with the community members how to care for goats, while in the community both Alex walyomu and Chris first moved to the homes of community members who were yet to fullfill the requirements to receive the goats these included Kirya Elijah ( no bathroom and kitchen), Naigembe Ruth( no dishrack and goat shelter), Naiti Edisa( no toilet), nabirye monica (no dishrack and goat shelter), Wakibeka Peter( lacks a dishrack), Nabirye scolastica ( no toilet and a bathroom) and Lubaale Awali ( no goat shelter and bathroom). Alex and Chris were very impressed when they found all the members except Kirya Elijah who is yet to construct a kitchen and bathroom ,had fullfilled all the requirements to receive the goats, out of the 30 home steads , only 5 homes have small concerns regarding fullfilling the requirements to receive goats but the rest of the homes are ready because they have toilets, bathrooms, planted trees, dishracks, rubbish pits, kitchens, goat shelter, goats feeds, the community members also decided that everyone has to plant the grass for feeding the goats, this indicates that the community is 95% ready to receive the goats however during the meeting Alex walyomu warned those members who lack any of the above requirements that they risk missing the goat if they do not fullfill them by the end of the week, the chairperson Mr Nkono pleaded on behalf of the members and requested for a deadline of one week before they are 100% ready , he promised that come next week the whole communjtu will be having all the requirements. Meanwhile chris requested every community member to explain how she/he is going to take care of the goats , to make sure the goats will not fall sick or die , every member in their explainations said they have palnted plenty of grass for goats to feed on, they had constructed shelters were the goats shall sleep and they pledged to always monitor the health of goats in order to report any case to the veterinary doctor. All these explainations from the community members showed that they have experience in rearing the goats and therefore they are very ready to receive the goats. Alex walyomu adviced the community members to put emphasis on dewarming, feeding well and sheltering the goats however he promised to invite the district veterinary doctor next week to continue with lessons on caring for goats.
