Notes
Enock made a visit to continue checking the progress of sanitation improvements, encouraging, teaching, assessing and encouraging the residents to construct sustainable facilities, emphasize the standardization and reminded the residents on the core importance of sanitation facilities more so latrine and encouraging behavioral change. As they walked around the community, they mobilized the residents to come for a general meeting on Monday to learn more about person hygiene and maintenance of their homes facilities as well as proper usage. During this visit we focused on the homes which are next to the trading centre and around the trading centre where most people come to buy and sale their food stuff and crops. There are some good standard facilities which are constructed more so latrines and shower areas. There are some families which are digging new latrine pits near the trading centre, we encouraged and taught them how to construct good firm foundation before constructing the latrine structure. There are also new shower areas constructed, new rubbish pits dug and used, there are also new hand washing stations constructed, we emphasized proper maintenance, hygiene of the jerrycans and usage of hand washing facilities with soap to clean their hands. This community has greatly embraced the importance of sanitation facilities and we observed sustainable facilities.
