Notes
Jeska and tape went to the village to meet with the the committee group leaders so as to discuss about the actual date of the program completion/commissioning stoves or giving out incentives. When they got there, they went to the meeting place and found a about five group leaders whereby the chairperson mr. waiswa was absent because he was at home trying to recover from his sickness. Among the group was the the village chairman mr. Robert who was also active in the program lessons. Before the discussions, they agreed to first walk around the village and check on different program facilities as well as the stove usage in different homes. Tape and Jessica observed that most facilities had been repaired and reconstructed such as putting up good strong firewood storages, shower areas, latrines, kitchen roofs as well as smearing their buildings. About three members didn’t have good kitchens although they had participated in the program activities and the group was willing to build for them the fuel efficient stoves once they were ready with good kitchens. Some members visited that day still needed to improve on their other facilities like smearing their kitchens, latrines and shower areas. Kibo staffs requested them to make sure they quickly improve all their facilities before the closure of the program which was soon. Later after, they went back to the meeting point where they sat down and began discussing about the date and actual activity to be carried out in the next coming meeting. They suggested that before the stove commissioning event, Kibo staff to first make another visit and check on the stove usage, follow up on stove building progress for the remaining members and improvements of other facilities. They would base on the findings that day which would enable them to select the actual date to take incentives and close the program. The community leaders were requested to continue encouraging the other members to improve on their facilities in preparation of the program closure.

23143 Nawampiti village. This woman was found cooking on her stove. Smoke remained in the Kitchen because she had left the small cooking surface area open which left room for smoke to remain in the kitchen. Tape encouraged her to always cover the two surface areas with saucepans to enable smoke to vent out of the kitchen.
