Notes
Suzan went to the village to follow up on the stove building progress, smearing if the houses and the construction of the firewood storages. When she arrived there she went to the meeting place and found the group chairperson Gerald, with his other four committee members sitting together. Together they first discussed about the current village status whereby the chairperson reported that they had so far received 21 efficient stoves while other members were first roofing and repairing their kitchens before getting the stoves. Some members had already started cooking on their new stoves on a daily basis while others waited for them to dry up. Suzan and the members agreed to walk around the village and monitor different program facilities in different homes. On the way, Suzan observed that most kitchens and other buildings had been well smeared with good constructed firewood storages. She also found some big children in the kitchens trying to make fire in the stoves and prepare lunch. One of the girls said she was enjoying to cook food on the efficient stove because it is stable enough especially while trying to mingle millet flour on them. The food got ready on time yet it saved firewood and time which was interesting to hear. Suzan encouraged the women to always keep their kitchens clean together with the stoves and avoid too much ash stuck in them. She also advised them to smear the stoves at least after every two weeks so that they didn’t develop cracks and lasted longer. They managed to visit 18 homes that day and the participants thanked Suzan for the lessons and advise given to them and the meeting came to an end.
