While in Kalalu, Tom held a village meeting in which he introduced the lessons on qualities of a good water user committee under the (water user committee training).
The attendance was slow as the residents arrived late because of the many activities they have now in their homes because of the rains. Some activities include weeding of their gardens, and some harvesting.
When the meeting started, Tom addressed the village residents and encouraged them to actively participate.
The topic of qualities of a good water user committee was very interesting and exciting to the members. The pointed to qualities like respectfulness, transparency, humility, trustworthiness, corporation, being exemplary, and unity among many others. On every quality discussed, Tom always asked the committee members about what they thought and all committee members on the water user committee agreed to adhere to those qualities and encouraged each other on the corporation, respect for on another, transparency and trustworthiness. They also called upon the rest of the committee members to also be respectful to each committee member.
Tom encouraged them also on unity, love and respect for each other in the community and said if those are present, the committee will work effectively and efficiently.
