Notes
Suzan went back to the village to follow up on the efficient stoves which previously had cracks and also,to continue encouraging the community members to scale out to the neighboring communities. This is important because the participants can earn some money by building the efficient stoves for members at the neighboring villages which can also enable them take care of their families. When she arrived, she found some of the committee group leaders Namaganda, twaha,Roselyn and muzito at the meeting place. After welcoming her, Suzan suggested they first walk around the village and visit some homes which had poor facilities especially the fuel efficient stoves which had cracked. Along the way, Suzan observed that the village had greatly improved on their facilities by smearing all their buildings and maintaining the rest of the sanitation facilities. In the kitchens, the stoves which had cracks had been well smeared and also there were good strong firewood stands constructed above which was so encouraging to see. Suzan went ahead and encouraged the participants to always see that they maintained all their facilities and cook food on their improved stoves on a daily basis. It was when one of the members reported that she heard rumors from other members at first saying that it was a bad omen for one to take out the three stones traditional stones from the kitchen because their husbands would suddenly die. But in the long run, she had to take them out and remained cooking on the new improved stoves after seeing others had taken them out for quite along time and nothing happened to their husbands so far. Suzan requested the participants never to cook on the three stones again and Incase the new saving stoves got old and spoiled, they can easily demolish them and construct new ones since all the materials are free and available within their environment. They thanked Kibo for the great lessons taught and promised to maintain their facilities as well as scaling out to the neighboring communities.
