Notes
Jeska went to Butabira village to follow up on the stove building progress, smearing and construction of firewood storages in the upper section of the village. This was mainly because most of the participants had constructed very poor firewood storage stands while others had not smeared their homes. When Jessica arrived, she went to the meeting place and found some of the active participants who warmly welcomed her after. The group chairperson reported that the members were doing well and they have so far built two fuel efficient stoves on their own, Jeska looked at them and were fairly done. She asked them to remove banana stems from the previously built stoves as she guided them. Later after she walked through other homes to see progress and found out that ,Some were still repairing their kitchens and other facilities before receiving the new improved saving stoves since it is a requirement before some one gets a stove. Also some participants had not yet smeared their home facilities , had not constructed firewood storages and she continued to encourage them to do so. Jeska also observed that Some men assisted their wives in constructing the firewood storage stands as well as other structures such as the shower areas, latrines and dish racks. She went ahead and encouraged the members to continue working together during the program activities for an effective development within their community as well as to continue practicing how to build the fuel efficient stoves on their own. Jeska also encouraged the young boys around to get involved in the stove building lessons so that they would earn some money out of it instead of loitering around doing nothing. The community was so grateful for the advice given to them and promised to work together as a team during the program activities.
