Notes
Suzan went to the village to follow up on the stove building progress and the construction of the kitchen roofs which were leaking. When she reached there, she met some active participants at the meeting place who welcomed her and after they went and carried out a home to home visit while checking on different program facilities. During the process, Suzan found some elder girls in the kitchens cooking food on their fuel efficient stoves while others were smearing them. Most kitchens had improved in the sanitation and hygiene and also had constructed good firewood storage stands stocked with enough firewood. According to observations, five days a go the weather was too hot and windy whereby some kitchen roofs had been blown off by the winds and had created big openings at the top which would expose the stoves to rain once it rained thus leading to destruction of these stoves. Some community members had gone ahead and constructed new roofs while others had not yet worked on them Suzan also observed that most buildings had been well smeared both from inside and outside although some kitchens needed to be smeared. Suzan encouraged them to smear their facilities and maintain them smeared to enable them last longer and look neat. Suzan encouraged the group to begin scaling out to the neighboring communities after the group chairperson reporting that there are only few members left to receive stoves in their communities. She thanked everyone for the good work carried out and left the village.

23728 Kazimba kungira. During the home visits, Suzan found Reste in her mother’s kitchen smearing their fuel efficient stove which they had not started cooking on it. She encouraged her to continue maintaining the stove by smearing it at least after every two weeks and also make sure that they cook on it once it has made one month old.
23764 Kazimba kungira. Peter has got a well smeared kitchen but needs to be reconstructed at the roof because the wind blew off the grass which makes it leak when it rains and the rain may spoil the stove.
