Notes
Irene and Maria went to Kalitumba to do a door to door evaluation, checking on the general hygiene of the community. Zaina one of the VHT joined the Kibo staff and together moved around the village home to home but it being a harvesting season, some members were in their gardens harvesting. We reached different homes checking on pregnant mothers, members who gave birth, children and checking on the general hygiene of the community. We thanked the community for improving the general hygiene of their homes, taking good care of the homes and children, thanked so much the men who have been so active in our lessons and embraced helping their wives with domestic work. During the walk, We came across Aggrey an active member in our lesson fighting with the wife. By the time we reached this family, Sylvia had ran way from the home. We asked for Sylvia’s phone number, and called her requesting her to come and we talk. She respected to us and came back and we had a talk with the two parities. It was too tough in the beginning but later we got a reunion. Aggrey and Sylvia were so great full to see that love has come back in the home through Kibo staffs, Aggrey promised to put some of basic ideas we gave them in to practice (love, patience, among others). We continued with our walk checking on the general hygiene of the community , others who are pregnant observing what they had prepared and encouraged to prepare for delivery, keep going to hospital for antenatal care, keep their houses clean and since it is harvest season keep some of the crops grown for food security during the dry season. Comparing the first visits made in this village the general hygiene of the community has greatly improved, members have planted small gardens of vegetables near their houses.
