Notes
Harriet went to Kirwanire village to follow up on stove building progress in the lower section and also to encourage participants in the upper section to participate in the program because it was reported that there are few members from the upper section who are involved. She reached at the meeting place and found a few participants . She first walked a round to see the stoves that the participants had tried to build on their own. The program chairperson told Harriet that, they built one stove the previous day and removed banana stem from one previously built stove. Harriet looked at the stoves and they were well done the challenge was the participants did not shape the stove well after removing banana stems. They did not create enough surface area for the cooking pot to sit on while cooking.Harriet explained their mistake and corrected it. She asked that to always enlarge the surface area when the stove has not yet dried Incase the cooking pot can’t fit. She also met the participants in the upper section together with the program leaders . During the meeting the participants from the upper section said that the committee never mobilized them for those lessons and only concentrated on the lower section. This was just an excuse because the committee leaders said that some of these participants had not smeared their home facilities which was a requirement for one to get a stove thus hard for them to qualify to be chosen to get a stove. Kibo staff Harriet, asked the participants to smear their home facilities, she also tasked the committee to ensure that the next member to get a stove to come from the upper section. This will also attract members in this section also to actively participate. The participants apologized for poor coordination and promised to work together.

23845 Kirwanire village. A kibo staff Harriet inspecting a newly constructed stove by the participants. The participants had successfully built the stove well but did not shape it after removing banana stems and had left some dirt in some holes which would affect the flow of fire and oxygen.
23848 Butabira village. This is one of the homes in the upper section of the village. The participant had a fire wood storage stand that needs to be stocked with enough fire. Also Harriet encouraged her to smear her home facilities before she gets a stove.
