- Maria went to Bukudumira to teach about Accessing medical services basically about the core values, the emergency and how to handle & identity emergency. The VHT welcomed all members, dedicated the meeting in the hands of God then he encouraged community members to participate in all Kibo programs, keep time and always make sure everyone is aware of the next day the meeting shall again be held. He then invited Maria to speak to the community members. Maria thanked members for welcoming Kibo in their village and embracing health education lessons. She asked the members to introduce their name’s thereafter Maria introduced the medical personal to members then she introduced the topic as accessing medical services. Members together with Maria discussed some of the barriers their encounter while seeking medical services; lack of drugs, poor infrastructure, misunderstanding amongst families, lack of funds to pay for medications among others. The medical personal explained how the government supplies drugs to the health facilities, she informed members that drugs are supplied on a quarter basis that is after every 3 months. She encouraged members to go and seek medical advise, knowledge, treatment, explained some of the emergency mentioning snake bite, convulsions in children, among others from hospital. “Some of the services offered in government hospitals are free but in private health center some payments may be required” said Mary the medical personal. Maria encouraged members to always start with the hospital in any case. The VHT ended the meeting with a word of prayer.
