Notes
Harriet went to Butabira village to continue following up on stove building progress, smearing of the home facilities and construction of firewood storages and main focus was in the upper section of the village.she reached in the village and found a few participants at the meeting place who walked with her through the homes of the participants. Interestingly most participants had smeared their home facilities unlike in the previous visit where they only smeared to stove the stove and left the entire kitchen and other facilities un smeared. Participants had constructed strong firewood storages and stocked them with firewood. Also there was a participant who had a leaking kitchen during the previous and this time she had roofed her kitchen and smeared it very well. The participants also told her that they were able to build two stoves for the two members. Harriet looked at the stoves and were well done. They also said that they are left with two participants in the group to get stoves and they plan to build for them the following day. Later they all settled down for the meeting to discuss about progress and way forward and well as discuss the date for commissioning the borehole and stoves. By consensus they agreed on the date to be 29/ 11/ 2021 and the venue to be at the borehole in the lower section of the village. They promised to have built the two remaining stoves by then and to mobilize each other to attend the commissioning. Kibo staff encouraged them to continue improving and maintaining their home facilities, to remain working together as a team and to start thinking about scaling out to other neighboring communities.
