Notes
Ida went to Bukoma C to teach about solutions to domestic violence. She thanked the community members for keeping time and requested them to keep it up. During the recap on causes of domestic violence, members participated well which gave Ida to decide and continue teaching about solutions to domestic violence. Ida opened up a discussion about solutions to domestic violence when she asked the members to tell her how they have dealt with it. Kafuko said that her mother told her to put water in the mouth and keep quiet when the husband is quarreling. Muhamud said that he he walks away from his wife and comes back after wards when she has cooled down. Charles Dolo said that crying loud helps him calm down whenever he has misunderstandings with people. Members laughed at him and said that “men don’t cry that’s a sign of weakness “ Ida told the community that God made us in a special and wonderfully made. Men are also human beings it’s fine to cry if necessary. Ida continued saying that as parents, we need to fulfill our responsibilities at home. Men are meant to be the heads of the house, but many have left their responsibilities to wives. Let both parties do their roles. Let’s provide shelter, security, school fees, medication to our people that God entrusted us with. Learn each other and forgive and also develop courses on parenting skills.
